Unblocking a gutter

Clearing
a blocked gutter is a simple job.Just scoop out the debriswith a trowel and rinse it out. Do this every autumn
before debris can block the gutter and cause overflows to run down the house walls. If left long enough the weight
of the debris can break the gutter, and in the worst cases you may even find moss and weeds starting to grow
there.
Start by blocking off the downpipe with a wad of rag or cloth to prevent debris getting into the pipe and blocking it. Make sure there's no way it can slip down the pipe. You don't want to create a new problem while you're tackling the old one.
Brush
the debris along the gutter to collect it then use the trowel to scoop it into the bucket. Hang the bucket from the
ladder with an S-hook when your using it.
When
the gutters are clear, remove the rag from the downpipe. Then pour water from a watering can into the gutter,
starting at the end farthest from the downpipe to flush out the remaining debris. If the water doesn't run away the
downpipe may be blocked or the gutter may need re-aligning,
if water leaks out you'll need to deal with the crack
