Realigning a gutter

If water overflows from the gutter and there's no evidence of a blockage, the problem may be caused by a broken or misaligned gutter bracket which is allowing the section of gutter to subside.

If water pools in the gutter, this is also a sign of bad alignment. Replace any brocken brackets you find, and reposition others as necessery to restore the gutter alignment.

The bracket at the opposite end should be 25mm lower than this for each 5 metre of gutter run. Tie a length of string between the the two, and refit the remaining brackets, so they align with it.

Refit the guttering, sliding it into the brackets and snapping the clips back into position.
